Orange limbs criss-cross a blue and purple background in this early abstract work by Brian Moss. Each offshoot from the main corridor is accentuated with a fine outline in micron pen.

The peninsula-like masses feature a lot of detail around the perimeter—but little in the wide spaces in between—creating a subtle contrast among the layers that is probably not picked up on first glance. Indian ink was used in places to create hints of shadows, again a subtle touch that typically goes unnoticed.

This line of art postcards features vibrant paintings printed on recycled paper. By supporting the artist directly, you are getting a helluva good deal on premium quality product. Bulk sets are available, as is reseller pricing.

ARTIST NOTES

Looking back I was entering an orange phase when I painted this. The purple highlights were just to make it seem like everything was normal, when in reality this was all about that orange. A friend told me it looked like human anatomy, and thus shaped the progress of the piece, as subliminal messages tend to do.
